چکیده
Nowadays, desalination continues to expand globally, which is one of the most effective solutions solve problem global drinking water shortage. However, not a fail-safe process and has many environmental human health consequences. This paper investigated procedure seawater with different technologies, namely, multi-stage flash distillation (MSF), multi-effect (MED), reverse osmosis (RO), various energy sources (fossil energy, solar wind nuclear energy). The aim was examine technologies’ effectiveness using three assessment methods, were examined separately. life cycle (LCA), PESTLE, multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) methods used evaluate each procedure. LCA based on following impact evaluation methods: ReCiPe 2016, IMPACT 2002+, IPCC 2013 GWP 100a; PESTLE risk evaluated long-lasting processes technologies political, economic, social, technological, legal, factors. Additionally, MCDA Technique for Order Preference by Similarity Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method technologies. study considered operational phase plant, includes necessary chemical needs, called “gate-to-gate” analysis. Saudi Arabia data analysis, base unit 1 m3 product. As result this study, RO combined renewable provided outstanding benefits in terms health, ecosystem quality, resources, as well climate change emissions GHGs categories.

Seawater desalination using renewable energy sources
The origin and continuation of mankind is based on water. Water is one of the most abundant resources on earth, covering three-fourths of the planet’s surface. However, about 97% of the earth’s water is salt water in the oceans, and a tiny 3% is fresh water. This small percentage of the earth’s water—which supplies most of human and animal needs—exists in ground water, lakes and rivers. The onl...
متن کاملUsing Dynamic Thermal Rating and Energy Storage Systems Technologies Simultaneously for Optimal Integration and Utilization of Renewable Energy Sources
Nowadays, optimal integration and utilization of renewable energy sources (RES) are of the most challenging issues in power systems. The wind and solar generation units' maximum production may or may not occur at peak consumption times resulting in non-optimal utilization of these resources. As a solution to this problem, energy storage systems (ESS) are embedded in networks. However, the power...
متن کاملThe evaluation and prioritization framework of renewable energy sources and sustainable development in Iran, based on the multi-criteria decision-making method
Developing countries like Iran face increasing energy demands due to population growth and economic expansion. The country has numerous renewable energy resources that account for the majority of its total energy supply. As fossil fuel resources are running out, the government plans to increase its renewable energy share. Many studies have already been conducted on renewable resources. However,...

متن کاملWater Desalination Plants Performance Using Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision Making
Countries which do not have adequate supply of freshwater sources like Kuwait resort to using desalination plants to meet their demand. Kuwait had used Multi-flash desalination (MSF) plants sine the 50’s of the last century to satisfy its ever increasing demand. Many new and more efficient and cost effective desalination technologies are currently available. Kuwait is in the process of building...
